It gets expensive always having "recent" recordings ready to send, especially as you keep evolving technically or adding new repertoire. And it seems that having accessible, high-quality materials is becoming more and more important for growing careers.
These sessions are all about keeping the stress and the cost low, by handling all logistics — from the piano tuning and the accompanist, to the 4K cameras and the editing. Renting MuziekHaven gives us the opportunity to record in a larger space than Monet Theehuis and perform on a beautiful Steinway from the NMF. Setting up all the gear there for a day means we can share the costs over 5-7 artists.
