Our Story
In 1871, Claude Monet visited Zaandam and painted the row of houses along the Zaan — the Teahouse among them. Over a century later, that same building has become a working atelier: a place where musicians rehearse, record, teach and perform beneath the same light Monet once captured on canvas.
Today the Teahouse hosts salon concerts, masterclasses, recording sessions, meditation classes, and school visits — a small, characterful space in the heart of Zaandam dedicated to creativity in all its forms.

For those interested in a larger acoustic and a beautiful Steinway from the NMF, we sometimes hire MuziekHaven for the day, set up our gear and provide drop-in recording sessions (including pianist).

Lochlan Brown
Conductor · Pianist · Recording Engineer
Lochlan is a regular guest conductor, repetiteur and vocal coach at the Dutch National Opera, the Netherlands Reisopera and Opera Zuid. He founded the Monet Teahouse with Chelsea to create an inspiring and safe space for musicians to study and coach repertoire.
He started his audio engineering and videography side-hustle to provide easy, affordable, quick-turnaround recordings for self-promotion, audition material, competitions and other applications.
Chelsea Bonagura
Voice Technician · Coloratura Soprano · Mindfulness Coach
In demand for her expertise in vocal technique, Chelsea is a regular guest teacher at conservatories and Young Artist Programs across the US and Europe. She specializes primarily in the Garcia and Bel Canto operatic techniques, but also coaches Broadway singers and hip-hop artists.
The mind, the body and the instrument are inseparable — which is why Chelsea takes a holistic technical approach, maximizing vocal efficiency and allowing students to enjoy decades of healthy vocal artistry and freedom of expression.
